French sculptor Alain Kurylo was born in 1952 in Chantilly, France. After gaining his Diploma in the late 70s at the National Paris School of Applied Arts (E.N.S.A.A.) under the tutelage of the influential sculptor Volti and the pioneering designer Serge Mouille, he embarked on his own work based on the human form, which has fascinated him for nearly a quarter of a century.
Alain has exhibited at major shows and art fairs across France, mainly in the South, the Loire Valley and Paris. For the last fifteen years he has concentrated on the human outline – the silhouette – and his work around this theme is constantly evolving with the use of new and diverse materials.
He has work in many public and private collections worldwide. In the UK he has exhibited regularly, most recently at The Grove in Hertfordshire, at the Broomhill Sculpture Park, Barnstaple, Devon, where he has an installation on permanent show, and with great success at AAF London in Battersea with Carina Haslam Art. He collaborates on a regular basis with several major galleries in France including Galerie Bénédicte Giniaux in Bergerac, Galerie Anagama in Versailles, Atelier Patrick Hugonnot in Guérande and Galerie Mondiale, Blonville. Since 2015, Alain has been represented exclusively in the UK by Carina Haslam Art, with huge success at major art fairs around the world.
